Both cars weight about the same. If that R is really twinturbo then its prolly pushing anywhere from 650-800hp. Compare that with the Ferraris 500hp and the fact the R is AWD. So yeah R should win no prob in 1/4 mile but after that its all Ferrari cause the R tops at 160mph and the Ferrari is close to 200mph. Golfs, WRX's, Evo's etc can all be built to go faster than Ferrairs, Lambos, Porsches etc but when it comes down to it........Youre still driving vw, subi or mitsu.

@ACCORDDEBROUSSE you're an idiot, an ignorant one, learn about 4wd and awd before commenting. and in addition 4wd is basically two POSI rears, and when both are enable tht means both are pulling the truck not just the rear wheels. AWD will apply more traction to the opposite wheel that is spinning/losing traction and it helps you regain control, and does not have two posi's.

@ACCORDDEBROUSSE there is a differnece, they are not the same. AWD, on the r32 is not able to be used in low or high (4wheeldrive is available in low or high) and 4wd is mainly available on SUV's and trucks. AWD, on many cars cannot be turned off and does not have basically two differnet drivetrains where on a truck, 4WD, you can have it off and be using RWD, AWD you cant do this, and the you enable 4wd and both axles will now be pulling the truck.

Dont be fooled by copies. This is my hands, in my shop, with my tool, with my 67 car. I am the original VOLKSWAGNUT. How to change a Volkswagen Generator belt in about 5 seconds. I was shown this trick a few years back, by Reece Kelso. Kelso was the "VW" man around the Gaston County NC area in the 70's. Kelso is gone but the memory is still strong. Here is my go at it ENJOY.

I think this might be the best car commercial of all time, and I don't even like modern, small cars like the Volkswagen Golf (I prefer big classic cars). Even so, this commercial still gets to me, and that is because this commercial isn't about the car, it is about the experience. Few things compare to driving along an empty country road by moonlight, and pretty much anyone who has taken a night time road trip will be able to connect with this commercial, regardless of their taste in cars.

@kentau123 I've had a 17 year old Golf 1.9d which was cool, a new R32 2008 model with all the options, which was heavy, slow and very thirsty, but comfortable and smooth, that was sold with 14,000 miles and just started to go wrong, then I had the V10, it went in for its first service and basically never drove properly again after the dealer found a leaking power steer pump and had to remove the engine to repair it... one major fault after another, My BMW cost £43k yes, but has been perfect.
